Thales e-Security, a data security services and solutions provider, this week unveiled CipherTrust Monitor 2.0, a new version of the company's network monitoring tool.
CipherTrust Monitor 2.0 is designed to help network operations teams streamline the monitoring and management of their Thales hardware security modules (HSMs), according to Thales.
With CipherTrust Monitor 2.0, network operations teams can track both Thales payShield payment security and Thales nShield cryptographic HSMs through a single pane of glass, Thales indicated.
CipherTrust Monitor 2.0 also provides network operations teams with advanced monitoring and displays and a new auditor role, Thales said in a prepared statement.
CipherTrust Monitor 2.0 is expected to be available by the end of June, Thales said, and is priced according to the number of hosting workstations and HSMs being monitored.
What Is CipherTrust Monitor?
CipherTrust Monitor is an HSM monitoring platform that enables network operations teams to gain visibility into the status of all their Thales payShield and nShield HSMs, Thales said.
The tool helps network operations teams inspect HSMs, Thales stated, and find out if potential security, configuration or utilization issues may compromise their mission-critical infrastructure.
CipherTrust Monitor reports on several attributes, including:
- Alarms and alerts.
- Configuration changes with user tracking.
- Operational status.
- Physical security and any tamper attempts.
- Utilization and capacity.
In addition, CipherTrust Monitor provides 24/7 operational status updates via email, SNMP, syslog or web interface, Thales stated, and supports three distinct user roles:
- Administrator.
- Auditor.
- Group manager.
CipherTrust Monitor 2.0 now empowers network operations teams with the ability to monitor their HSMs from the convenience of their own office, Thales Vice President of Strategy Peter Galvin said in a prepared statement.
By doing so, CipherTrust Monitor 2.0 helps network operations teams reduce their key management costs and downtime, Galvin stated.
Thales Releases IoT Solutions
Thales in February launched solutions designed to authenticate Internet of Things (IoT) devices and protect IoT data from the point of collection to aggregated data repositories.
The Thales digital birth certificate, code signing and transparent encryption solutions enable organizations to manage IoT device security and safeguard IoT data, the company said in a prepared statement.
That way, organizations can "ensure the lifecycle integrity of IoT data and greatly enhance overall trust in their IoT business processes," Thales stated.
