SC Media reports that dismantling data silos and replacing them with "connected risk" frameworks was noted by AuditBoard Chief Technology Officer Happy Wang to be crucial in bolstering cybersecurity defenses and threat intelligence sharing efforts.

Cloud technology has been crucial in facilitating data integration and collaboration across different teams, said Wang at this year's Audit+Beyond conference.

Reducing the barriers of data silos would also help maximize the potential of artificial intelligence in advancing cybersecurity.

"By addressing the barriers of data silos and focusing on integration, we can help companies unlock the full potential of AI, turning risk management from a reactive process into a strategic advantage. In cybersecurity, this translates to quicker threat detection, more precise responses, and ultimately, stronger defenses against evolving threats," said Wang, who also regarded the importance of robust encryption, audits, and access controls to guarantee data security and privacy concerns stemming from data integration.
