Many cybersecurity professionals expressed dissatisfaction over their current working arrangements, with only 33% saying they would recommend their employers to others in the cybersecurity field while 28% opposed any endorsement, SC Media reports.

Sixty percent of polled cybersecurity workers disclosed considering new jobs, with nearly 70% of department leaders looking to transfer to another organization within the next year, although only nine respondents have switched employers during the last 12 months, according to a report from IANS Research and Artico Search.

"While actual turnover has been low, the expressed intent to leave may reflect latent engagement issues that warrant attention," said the report.

Additional findings revealed significant regional disparities in the compensation of cybersecurity professionals, with those in the West Coast having a $200,000 average base salary, compared with only nearly $137,000 for those in the Southeast U.S. High pay was more likely to be given by New York and New England finance and biotech firms, as well as West Coast tech and engineering entities.
