Cygilant, a security-as-a-service (SECaaS) provider, has joined the AT&T Cybersecurity Partner Program. The companies together will deliver managed security support to AlienVault Unified Security Management (USM) Anywhere users, according to a prepared statement.
Cygilant, formerly known as EiQ Networks, raised about $7 million in private equity funding in 2017 to its previous $31 million haul.
Cygilant's Co-Managed AlienVault USM Anywhere service provides AlienVault USM Anywhere users with visibility and control over their IT environments, the company said. It delivers continuous security intelligence backed by global security operations center (SOC) analysts who manage organizations' AlienVault solutions.
Furthermore, Co-Managed AlienVault USM Anywhere offers forensic and root cause analysis and remediation guidance to help AlienVault USM Anywhere users mitigate cyber risk and comply with data security mandates, Cygilant stated. It also allows AlienVault USM Anywhere users to leverage Cygilant's security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) solution for managed detection and response (MDR).
Cygilant CEO Move, Business Strategy
In addition to joining the AT&T Cybersecurity Partner Program, Cygilant in March 2019 appointed Rob Scott as its CEO. Scott oversees Cygilant as the company explores ways to accelerate its growth.
Scott previously served as CEO of Bradford Networks, a network security company acquired by Fortinet in June. He also has more than 30 years of technology industry experience.
Cygilant offers cybersecurity technologies to help organizations detect vulnerabilities, anomalies and suspicious activity. The company today offers two main cybersecurity services: Cygilant MDR and Cygilant Unified Vulnerability and Patch Management.
Cygilant MDR is a cloud-based SOCaaS solution. It offers threat detection, compliance monitoring and security information and event management and log management capabilities.
Meanwhile, Cygilant Unified Vulnerability and Patch Management offers continuous vulnerability scanning and risk prioritization capabilities. It also provides auditable patch management to minimize the risk of security vulnerabilities across desktops, laptops and servers.
AT&T Acquires AlienVault, Reorganizes
AT&T acquired AlienVault in August 2018. More recently, the parent company reorganized is cybersecurity assets into a new standalone business division. Specifically, AlienVault has combined with AT&T Cybersecurity Consulting and AT&T Managed Security Services to form a new standalone division, AT&T Cybersecurity.
