eSentire Managed Detection and Response Growth Continues

eSentire, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019 and Top 20 managed detection and response (MDR) service provider, recorded nearly 100 percent year-over-year growth in the first quarter of 2020, according to the company. 1Q20 marked eSentire's ninth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth.

The momentum statement comes roughly 15 months after eSentire raised $47 million to further expand its MDR platform. eSentire CEO Kerry Bailey -- a Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Verizon and Terremark veteran -- has aggressively positioned the company as a "next generation" MDR service provider with intellectual property (IP) that outpaces traditional MSSPs. Still, the company does not disclose actual revenue or profit figures.

On the customer satisfaction front, eSentire reported a net promoter score (NPS) of 72 percent and net customer retention of over 116 percent in 1Q20. The company also delivered 100 percent service availability via its Atlas MDR platform, eSentire says.

Atlas can ingest data across customer environments and eSentire's global threat sources, the company said, to obtain security intelligence and recommendations and orchestrate their response efforts accordingly.

Furthermore, Atlas helps partners:

  • Eliminate security blind spots
  • Use AI to identify cyber threats that bypass traditional threat detection technologies
  • Contain cyber threats in under 20 minutes across networks, endpoints and cloud environments

Atlas also offers security orchestration and automation capabilities to stop cyber threats that avoid firewalls and antivirus once per minute for every customer, eSentire said. Furthermore, eSentire security operations center (SOC) threat hunters use Atlas to respond to and contain threats in customers' environments on average once every 2 minutes.

eSentire Doubles Its Sales in 2019

Along with its growth in 1Q20, eSentire doubled its sales and reported a 134 percent year-over-year increase in new bookings in EMEA in 2019. eSentire continues to explore ways to accelerate its growth as well.

eSentire recently unveiled its esCLOUD portfolio, which provides continuous monitoring across cloud environments and automated policy enforcement and support from eSentire's security analysts. The company also integrated CrowdStrike's endpoint detection and response (EDR) and next-generation antivirus (NGAV) capabilities into its MDR solution in December.
