Pcysys now enables MSSPs to use its PenTera automated penetration testing platform to offer remote network penetration testing and red teaming services, according to a prepared statement. The news comes after Pcysys in November raised $10 million in Series A financing.
PenTera allows MSSPs to conduct remote penetration tests without on-site software agents, Pcysys said. It also ensures that MSSPs can perform the equivalent of a three-week penetration test in a single day.
How Does PenTera for MSSPs Work?
PenTera leverages machine-based penetration testing technology for instant availability, Pcysys noted. The platform does not require any software agents, and MSSPs can deploy it remotely.
In addition, MSSPs can leverage a three-step model to deploy PenTera:
- Buy Licenses: MSSPs can purchase penetration test licenses and use them for individual projects with different customers.
- Perform Penetration Tests: MSSPs connect to customer sites remotely, then set up and launch penetration tests over various network segments.
- Upsell to an Annual License: Along with periodic penetration tests, MSSPs can resell an annual PenTera subscription to customers who require frequent penetration tests. By upselling to an annual license, MSSPs can earn a reseller commission.
Following penetration tests, PenTera provides a report that details security vulnerabilities and attack vectors, Pcysys indicated. The report also includes an executive summary and posture scorecard and defines remediation steps that can be taken to reduce an organization's risk of a data breach.
Introducing Pcysys Penetration Testing-as-a-Service for MSSPs
Pcysys previously launched PenTera Service Provider (SP) for MSSPs last year. PenTera SP enables MSSPs to purchase licenses for penetration-test instances to deliver penetration testing-as-a-service.
Furthermore, Pcysys offers a partner program that allows MSSPs to run penetration tests for customers. MSSPs that join the program can buy Pen-Test Credits and use them in conjunction with PenTera SP to run penetration tests.
