TorchLight, an MSSP spin-off from IT consulting firm Intrinium, has launched ransomware detection architecture (RDA) and managed detection and response (MDR) cybersecurity services. The new offerings leverage TorchLight's partnership with Cisco Systems.
The overall TorchLight business (team photo at top) surfaced in October 2021. The company essentially is a spin-out from Intrinium, an IT solutions provider that has offered consulting and managed services to businesses of all sizes since 2007.
TorchLight's new RDA service, available now, can perform a Ransomware Gap Assessment (RGA) for customers. The assessment uses the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NISTIR 8374) to identify the potential for ransomware events. Organizations gain a roadmap of potential vulnerabilities as well as an understanding of their recovery ability, TorchLight indicated. From there, the MSSP can install and manage a cloud-based ransomware defense solution.
RDA's software components include Cisco Secure Endpoint, Cisco Secure Email, and Cisco Secure DNS. The software integrates with TochLight's SOC (security operations center), which provides monitoring, notification and remediation of ransomware attacks.
TorchLight MDR Service
Meanwhile, the new MDR service offers 24/7 monitoring and response of security alerts across an organization's security information and event management (SIEM) systems, TorchLight indicated. In addition, the service allows organizations to leverage TorchLight's Cisco-based Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) implementation or use their existing security solutions in conjunction with the company's security monitoring.
