Stellar Cyber and Mimecast have announced an integration designed to help organizations protect against email-based attacks.
Mimecast's Email Security solution monitors email traffic, identifies suspicious emails and automatically shares alert data with Stellar Cyber, the companies said in a prepared statement.
Meanwhile, Stellar Cyber's Open eXtended detection and response (XDR) platform ingests, normalizes and analyzes Mimecast alerts and other threat data. This helps security analysts generate insights that they can use to understand and investigate threats.
Commenting on the integration and how it helps organizations guard against phishing and other email-based threats, Jules Martin, vice president of Technology Alliances at Mimecast, said:
"Email continues to be the primary entry point for ransomware attacks, and the sophistication of those attacks is rising exponentially. We're excited to partner with Stellar Cyber to help our joint customers quickly detect and respond to threats, allowing them to gain more visibility across the attack chain."
How the Stellar Cyber-Mimecast Integration Impacts MSSPs
The Stellar Cyber-Mimecast integration lets MSSPs access real-time, bi-directional threat signals across their customers' attack surfaces from Open XDR and Email Security, the companies said. MSSPs can view security alerts across these surfaces and automatically respond to threats. As a result, MSSPs can utilize Open XDR and Email Security to address threats faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Andrew Homer, Stellar Cyber's vice president of Technology Alliances, shared his thoughts with MSSP Alert on his company's integration with Mimecast and what it means for MSSPs:
"Stellar Cyber's platform is a favorite of MSSPs who want to differentiate their services by offering greater visibility, faster detection of potential threats and faster responses to them. Our new integration with Mimecast extends those capabilities to email and email attachments, closing one of the primary avenues hackers use to gain access to sensitive information."
MSSPs Eye Stellar Cyber Open XDR Integrations
Along with Mimecast, several MSSPs have integrated Stellar Cyber's Open XDR platform into their offerings in 2023, including:
MSSPs can join Stellar Cyber's partner program to use Open XDR to provide security operations center-as-a-service (SOC-as-a-service), managed detection and response-as-a-service (MDRaaS) and other security services.
