TD Synnex, formed from the recent Synnex and Tech Data merger, has released a Tech Data security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) offering in Europe. The target market appears to be MSPs and VARs in the United Kingdom.
The offering allows Tech Data partners to provide SOCaaS to their customers without requiring them to make an upfront investment or build their own capabilities.
TD Synnex did not disclose specific third-party tools that were used to create the service. But a company spokesperson said:
"Tech Data’s offering is a best-of-breed solution, comprising Tech Data’s core expertise with software and services from carefully selected third parties who can provide niche and specialist expertise, knowledge and technical know-how. Tech Data has partnered with various industry- leading cyber security firms to deliver our SOCaaS offering."
The service is not available in the U.S., but TD Synnex in the United States does have a portfolio of services that includes a similar, but differently-constructed offering, the company says.
Channel partners can use TD Synnex's SOCaaS to provide continuous monitoring across their customers' IT infrastructure, the distributor noted. Partners, in turn, can detect and contain threats across their customers' environments.
The SOCaaS platform also supports security audits, incident response planning and security monitoring, reporting and response services, the company said. Partners can also can tailor security policies, processes and procedures to ensure their customers can comply with industry requirements.
TD Synnex's SOCaaS is now available. Channel partners can deliver the SOCaaS via white-labeled managed security services.
SOCaaS for Channel Partners: Emerging Opportunities
Along with TD Synnex, others have made moves in 2021 to help MSSPs and other channel partners incorporate SOCaaS into their portfolios. Examples include:
- Arctic Wolf: Added Authorized and Wolf Pack tiers to its channel partner program for SOCaaS and MDR.
- Ingram Micro: Agreed to distribute Stellar Cyber‘s Open XDR security platform to deliver SOCaaS and managed detection and response-as-a-service (MDRaaS).
- AgileBlue: Raised private equity and venture capital financing and hired two Perch Security veterans to drive SOCaaS sales and channel partner engagements.
Generally speaking, SOCaaS often blends security information and event management (SIEM) with cybersecurity intelligence to help organizations learn about cyber threats and find the best ways to address them. As such, demand for SOCaaS could increase in the years to come, creating new revenue streams for MSSPs and other channel partners.
