SolarWinds MSP has fully integrated its Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution with SolarWinds Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) for MSPs (managed IT service providers), according to a prepared statement.
The new integration surfaces roughly 18 months after SolarWinds and SentinelOne announced EDR for MSPs.
New new EDR integration enables SolarWinds partners to use SolarWinds RMM to configure and manage endpoint security and mitigate security risks for their customers, the company said. It allows them to deploy and manage the SolarWinds EDR agent on RMM-managed Windows devices and leverage AI and forensics to understand customer endpoints and protect against known and unknown cyber threats.
Furthermore, the integration provides access to an EDR dashboard, threat management, policy configuration and other endpoint security features within the SolarWinds RMM interface, the company said. In doing so, the integration helps SolarWinds partners quickly deploy EDR for their customers.
A Closer Look at SolarWinds EDR
SolarWinds EDR is powered by the SentinelOne endpoint security platform. Key features of SolarWinds EDR include:
- Multiple AI engines that assess data points to identify cyber threats and determine if a response is necessary
- Aggregated threat data that highlights the current number of active threats and number of threats found in a specified time period
- Threat summaries that provide information relating to specific threats
- Ability to offer various cyberattack recovery options
- Automated cyberattack containment
SolarWinds partners can leverage SolarWinds EDR to protect customers against ransomware, zero-day attacks and other current and emerging cyber threats, the company said. That way, SolarWinds partners can use SolarWinds EDR to prevent, detect and respond to cyber threats across customer endpoints.
SolarWinds MSP Spin-Out, SentinelOne IPO?
Meanwhile, both SolarWinds and SentinelOne are preparing business moves that investors are watching closely.
At SolarWinds, the board is seeking a new CEO to succeed Kevin Thompson as part of a leadership transition plan. Also, the company plans to move forward with a SolarWinds MSP business spin-out. Assuming the spin-out happens, John Pagliuca will shift from president to CEO of SolarWinds MSP.
