WatchGuard Technologies has delivered AuthPoint Total Identity Security, a security bundle that combines AuthPoint multi-factor authentication (MFA) with dark web credential monitoring capabilities and a corporate password manager.
MSPs can use AuthPoint Total Identity Security in conjunction with the zero trust risk-based policies of WatchGuard's Unified Security Platform architecture to provide cyber protection from the WatchGuard Cloud platform, the company said.
AuthPoint Total Identity Security Lets MSPs Expand Their Security Portfolios
AuthPoint Total Identity Security offers credentials monitoring, dark web exposure alerts and password management to their customers, WatchGuard said. In doing so, MSPs can reduce the risk credential compromise across their customer base.
MSPs can utilize AuthPoint Total Identity Security to let their customers generate complex passwords that are auto-filled through browser extensions for Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Firefox and protected by a vault password, WatchGuard stated.
Each application's credentials can be stored in a password manager. This ensures that each user only has to create and remember one unique, complex vault password and reduces the risk of phishing.
Carla Roncato, WatchGuard's vice president of Identity, commented on AuthPoint Total Identity Security and how it helps MSPs protect their customers against stolen and leaked credentials and data breaches:
"Stolen or leaked credentials are a primary cause of data breaches, yet passwords remain the most prevalent method of user authentication for organizations... AuthPoint Total Identity Security provides advanced password management capabilities and dark web monitoring to help protect corporate credentials in addition to MFA and web single sign-on."
WatchGuard Expands Globally, Adds to Leadership Team
The AuthPoint Total Identity Security launch comes after WatchGuard in April 2023 established a new office in Noida, India. WatchGuard also announced plans to double its workforce at this location in the next year.
In addition, WatchGuard in April 2023 hired HoJin Kim as its senior vice president and chief revenue officer. Kim has 25 years of experience leading and growing IT channel organizations. He leads WatchGuard's worldwide sales organization and is responsible for "driving revenue growth, scaling and expanding the global sales organization and driving the adoption of WatchGuard's Unified Security Platform framework within the MSP community," the company stated.
WatchGuard offers the WatchGuardONE channel partner program, which allows MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers to incorporate its Unified Security Platform's capabilities into their offerings. More than 17,000 service providers and security resellers use WatchGuard's technologies to protect over 250,000 customers globally, the company said.
