Forescout Technologies has released the Forescout eXtended detection and response (XDR) solution to help MSSPs and other organizations "better detect, investigate and respond to the broadest range of advanced threats," according to the company.

The solution has a multi-tenant architecture and supports local data storage, Forescout said. It lets organizations ingest data from over 170 security, infrastructure, application, cloud and SaaS and enrichment sources, Forescout indicated. The solution also provides over 70 sources of threat intelligence and 1,500 verified detection rules and models.

How Forescout XDR Works

Forescout XDR provides end-users with an aggregated global view of cyber threats and insights into their organization's security operations center (SOC) performance, the company said. It is vendor agnostic and allows users to leverage data from its endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution and other security tools to identify, assess and address cyberattacks.

In addition, Forescout XDR works in conjunction with Forescout's network access control solution, the company stated. An organization can use both solutions to reduce its attack surface and automate its incident response workflows.

Forescout Appoints New CEO

The Forescout XDR launch comes after Forescout in January 2023 appointed Barry Mainz as its CEO. Mainz replaces Wael Mohamed, who announced plans to leave Forescout in October 2022 in the midst of an undisclosed number of layoffs. At this time, Mohamed said he would join Forescout's board of directors.

Mainz is Forescout's fifth CEO dating back to fall 2020. He has more than 25 years of executive leadership experience. Prior to joining Forescout, Mainz has held leadership roles at MobileIron, Malwarebytes and other cybersecurity companies.
