Arctic Wolf, a cloud-based security operations platform provider, now allows its partners to offer incident response capabilities from its Tetra Defense business unit. In doing so, Arctic Wolf is helping its partners integrate incident response capabilities into their portfolios and expand their security offerings, the company said.

In addition, Arctic Wolf has announced $0 incident response retainers and response referrals. Eligible Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response (MDR) customers can receive priority access to the Tetra Defense incident response team without any upfront costs, Arctic Wolf said. Meanwhile, partners who introduce non-Arctic Wolf customers to Tetra Defense are eligible to become the partner-of-record for future Arctic Wolf opportunities.

Arctic Wolf also has enhanced its Partner Sales Training Program, the company indicated. Partners can access virtual training courses to learn about the security industry and sales and marketing materials to help them grow their businesses.

A Closer Look at Tetra Defense

Tetra Defense is an incident response, cyber risk management and digital forensics firm that Arctic Wolf acquired in February 2022. It offers a variety of cybersecurity services, including:

  • Business email compromise investigation
  • Cybersecurity risk assessment
  • Data breach response
  • Ransomware response

Tetra Defense also offers a Cyber Defense Operations team that delivers MDR services and provides cybersecurity professional services and support, the company said. This team helps organizations identify cyber threats, analyze their security posture and find ways to protect against cyberattacks.

Multiple MSP-focused technology companies are building out incident response services for channel partners. Another recent example involves ConnectWise Incident Response, which surfaced in April 2022 and reached general availability in June 2022.

What Does the Future Hold for Arctic Wolf

The new incident response offerings and incentives for partners and customers were announced during Arctic Wolf's annual Channel Day on June 15, 2022. They come after the company has expanded its channel partner program to over 900 members.

Arctic Wolf has spent recent months exploring potential IPO (initial public offering), but recent turbulence on Wall Street coupled with rising interest rates have largely closed the near-term IPO window for tech startups.

Still, Arctic Wolf has strengthened its financial know-how in recent months. The company hired former Nutanix CFO Duston Williams in April 2022; Williams previously helped Nutanix go public in 2016. Arctic Wolf also opened an office in New Castle, England in January 2022 to extend its global reach.
