DarkLight, a Seattle, Washington-based cybersecurity software company, has expanded its U.S. operations into Washington, D.C.
DarkLight has also announced a partnership with Hack Factory, a D.C. metro region startup studio and growth lab, to maintain a physical presence in the region.
How DarkLight Helps MSSPs
MSSPs can use DarkLight's Cyio cybersecurity hygiene and posture management solution to "identify and prioritize risk utilizing the NIST frameworks," the company said.
Cyio adapts to an organization's risk remediation procedures, DarkLight indicated. It enables MSSPs to view their customers' cybersecurity risks and posture.
Key features of Cyio include:
- Automatic prioritization of context-based risks based on likelihood and impact
- Compliance reporting based on industry standards and best practices
- Business-specific context into an organization's assets and potential targets for cyberattacks
- Security Assessment Reports (SARs) based on FedRAMP standards
- Asset lifecycle discovery, management, and tracking
Furthermore, DarkLight supports MSSPs that work with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and promote the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program, the business stated.
DarkLight Partners with Tenable
The D.C. expansion news comes after DarkLight in August 2023 joined the Tenable Assure Partner Program and added Tenable's exposure management solutions to its offerings.
As a Tenable partner, DarkLight will provide its customers with the "insights necessary to effectively navigate, understand and manage internal and external risks within their business operations," DarkLight CEO Dan Wachtler said.
DarkLight will also offer Tenable's Exposure Management platform to its customers, Wachtler noted. By doing so, DarkLight customers can use Tenable's platform to view vulnerabilities across various environments and get insights that they can use to make informed security decisions.
MSSPs Can Join DarkLight's Pilot Program
DarkLight is offering a free pilot program that allows organizations to use Cyio in conjunction with their offerings. To date, Tenable and Hack Factory are two of the organizations to join this program.
Moving forward, DarkLight is focused on helping organizations become "empowered defenders," according to the business. It does not offer a formal partner program for MSSPs and other technology providers but may look to develop and launch one in the future.
