Laminar, which is backed by SentinelOne and other investors, has integrated data access governance (DAG) and data detection and response (DDR) solutions into its Data Security Platform.
Now, organizations can use Laminar's Data Security Platform to "identify, protect, detect and respond capabilities for multi-cloud and SaaS data security," the company announced in a prepared statement.
All Critical Data Security Functions in a Single Platform
The Data Security Platform's DAG solution lets organizations control user and machine access to sensitive data and ensure least privilege, Laminar indicated. In doing so, the solution reduces data exposure and minimizes the blast radius from data leaks.
Meanwhile, the platform's DDR solution alerts on data breaches and other security anomalies as they arise, Laminar said. As such, the solution helps organizations contain active threats and minimize their potential damage.
Laminar CEO Amit Shaked commented on the DAG and DDR solutions and how they complement the Data Security Platform's data landscape intelligence, data security posture management and privacy and compliance capabilities:

Many Cybersecurity Professionals Struggle to Monitor and Manage Their Data
Approximately 63% of cybersecurity professionals use cloud-native security tools to monitor data, according to a Laminar survey of 219 respondents from the 2023 RSA Conference and 2023 InfoSec Europe conference. However, 25% still do not have the ability to monitor all data stores across their hybrid cloud infrastructure. Also, 26% said they are not sure if they have these capabilities.
Using cloud-native data security solutions that are agentless, asynchronous and autonomous can help organizations monitor and manage their data like never before, Laminar pointed out. These solutions allow organizations to discover and classify their structured and unstructured cloud data across managed and self-hosted data stores. They also enable organizations to analyze data access and usage patterns and find ways to improve their security posture.
A Closer Look at Laminar
Organizations can use Laminar's Data Security Platform to monitor and manage their cloud data, the company said. That way, they can secure and govern their cloud data in accordance with various security requirements.
Laminar has established technology partnerships with Wiz and other technology and cybersecurity companies. It does not currently offer a formal partner program for MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers but may look to develop and launch one in the future.
