Microsoft Azure Sentinel SIEM: Will MSSPs Plug In?

Microsoft Azure Sentinel, cloud-native security information and event management (SIEM) tool, is now generally available. Some MSSPs (managed security services providers) are already integrating with the platform.

Azure Sentinel is designed to help security administrators become more nimble and efficient, Microsoft said. It enables security administrators to identify, detect and block malware in near-real-time, prioritize critical tasks and leverage intelligent security analytics at cloud scale.

Azure Sentinel was previously announced in February, and beta testing began at that time. To date, Microsoft has integrated feedback from 12,000 customers and more than two petabytes of data analysis into Azure Sentinel.

CyberProof Announces Azure Sentinel Integration

MSSPs can leverage Azure Sentinel in various ways. For instance, CyberProof, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019, unveiled an Azure Sentinel integration earlier this year.

The Azure Sentinel integration enables CyberProof customers to automate threat detection and incident response and recovery, the company said. It also allows CyberProof customers to access security insights via the Microsoft Intelligence Security Graph.

Azure Sentinel highlights the rising interest in SIEM solutions, and it could help accelerate the global SIEM market's growth.

The global SIEM market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.4 percent between 2019 and 2027, according to industry analyst Research and Markets. In addition, global SIEM market revenues are projected to reach $6.2 billion by 2027.
