Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Cloud Security Partnership: Kyndryl, an IT infrastructure services provider, and Cloudflare, a cloud connectivity cloud specialist, have formed a global strategic alliance. This expansion of their partnership enables enterprises to migrate and manage networks for multi-cloud connectivity and comprehensive network security. The partnership combines Kyndryl’s consulting services with Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud that offers security, performance and cloud flexibility all-in-one, the companies said.

2. Data Security Collaboration: Fortra has formed a strategic integration partnership with Lookout, a data-centric cloud security company, to provide customers with comprehensive security coverage that protects data in the threat landscape. In addition, Fortra has introduced its new Digital Guardian Secure Service Edge solution, powered by the Lookout Cloud Security Platform. This security service edge (SSE) offering provides continuous monitoring of user and device risk posture, enabling dynamic and granular zero trust access based on app and data sensitivity.

3. Funding Round: CyberSaint, a cyber risk management specialist, has raised $21 million in Series A funding led by Riverside Acceleration Capital (RAC). Additional participating investors include Sage Hill Investors, Audeo Capital and BlueIO. The funding will build on customer momentum, accelerate market expansion and continue the innovation of CyberSaint’s CyberStrong platform, the company said.

4. Dark Web Training Program: Searchlight Cyber, a dark web intelligence company, has launched The Dark Web Academy, a two-day instructor-led training course to help law enforcement and security professionals identify and tackle dark web threats using the Cerberus dark web investigation platform. The Dark Web Academy’s eight-hour course requires no prior dark web experience from its participants and is delivered both virtually and in-person.

5. Ransomware Research Released: Thales has released its 2024 Thales Data Threat Report, featuring the latest data security threats, trends and emerging topics based on a survey of nearly 3000 IT and security professionals in 18 countries across 37 industries. This year’s report found that 93% of IT professionals believe security threats are increasing in volume or severity, a significant rise from 47% last year, Thales reported.

6. Water Cyber Threat Summit Convened: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan have invited all U.S. governors and state environmental, health and homeland security secretaries to discuss the urgent need to safeguard water sector critical infrastructure against cyber threats. This virtual meeting on March 21 will highlight current federal and state efforts to promote cybersecurity practices in the water sector, discuss priority gaps in these efforts and emphasize the need for states and water systems to take immediate action.

7. CISA Issues Threat Alert: The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued a new fact sheet, PRC State-Sponsored Cyber Activity: Actions for Critical Infrastructure Leaders, which warns critical infrastructure leaders of the urgent risk posed by Volt Typhoon and provides guidance on specific actions to prioritize the protection of their organization from this threat activity. 8. Identity Security Training Offer: Ping Identity has announced the expansion of its Authorized Training Partner Network, furthering its training provider partnership with TD SYNNEX in Europe and with ExitCertified in North America to ensure greater global access to training content for its identity and access management (IAM) solutions, the company said.

9. Tech Sector Threat Intelligence Report Issued: Trustwave, a cybersecurity and managed security services provider, has released a report focusing on the distinct cybersecurity challenges confronting the technology sector. The research, “2024 Technology Threat Landscape: Trustwave Threat Intelligence Briefing and Mitigation Strategies,” delves into risks specific to the tech industry, offering cybersecurity leaders actionable insights and strategies to fortify their defenses.

10. Quantum Security Innovation: Delinea, a privileged access management (PAM) provider, has announced an innovation to protect organizations from threats in the post-quantum computing era with the availability of quantum-safe encryption of secrets and credentials on the Delinea Platform. Aligned to NIST standards, quantum-safe encryption on Secret Server empowers organizations to secure critical credentials from being compromised by quantum computers with one of the four NIST-recommended asymmetric algorithms, CRYSTALS-Kyber, the company said.
