1. Open XDR Let's You "Bring Your Own Data Lake": Stellar Cyber announced that its Open XDR platform now supports “Bring Your Own Data Lake” (BYODL). This integration allows organizations that have standardized their data storage framework on Splunk, Snowflake, Elastic, AWS security data lake or any S3 compatible storage to incorporate its Open XDR platform into their security framework. With this newly added support, Stellar Cyber eliminates the need for the organization to migrate their data from an existing data lake that serves multiple functions, the company said.

2. MSP Partnership Formed: Breach Secure Now (BSN) and Lyra Technology Group, a specialist in advanced technology solutions for MSPs, have announced an exclusive partnership. This collaboration introduces BSN's automated breach prevention and productivity training platform to all MSPs within the Lyra Technology Group family, enhancing their cybersecurity and productivity offerings. "Our partnership with BSN empowers MSP partners and their clients to leverage technology safely," said Vince Kent, Lyra Technology Group's chief technology officer. "It allows us to deliver a comprehensive human firewall solution specifically designed for MSPs, protecting against cyber threats and enhancing operational efficiency."

3. Cyber Talent Study Released: N2K Networks, a strategic cyber workforce intelligence specialist, in partnership with Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in cybersecurity, has released the Cyber Talent Study. The study reveals that WiCyS members outperform in several key areas and that those in junior roles are performing at higher levels. This indicates that women possess the aptitude, knowledge, and hard skills needed for advancement. The issue lies not with them, but with the employers, according to N2K Networks.

4. Industry Recognition Achieved: IXDen, a specialist in cybersecurity and operational failure prediction, has been selected by Google for its AI Fund. The award recognizes top companies that have developed and implemented innovative and groundbreaking AI solutions. IXDen has been accepted into Google for Startups' prestigious AI program, which focuses on AI. The program aims to promote the growth of promising AI startups and provides significant support to high-potential AI companies, IXDen said.

5. Ransomware Alert: A new ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) called Eldorado comes with locker variants for VMware ESXi and Windows. The ransomware group has already claimed 16 victims since March, most of them in the U.S., in real estate, educational, healthcare and manufacturing sectors. Researchers at cybersecurity company Group-IB monitored the Eldorado's activity and noticed its operators promoting the malicious service on RAMP forums and seeking skilled affiliates to join the program. 6. Data Breach Investigation: Schubert Jonckheer & Kolbe LLP is investigating a ransomware attack and data breach affecting the private information of approximately 500,000 members of Patelco Credit Union, a California-based credit union. On June 29, Patelco experienced a ransomware attack in which hackers gained access to its systems, blocked access and then demanded a ransom payment to restore its systems and return stolen data. The credit union's members have been locked out of electronic payments, direct deposits and transfers since the beginning of the attack.

7. CDK Systems Restored: CDK Global were reportedly fully operational by on July 4, following two cyberattacks on June 19. Automotive dealership business was crippled due to a ransomware attack on CDK, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company that provides an ERP-like dealer management platform. CDK’s SaaS platform runs all aspects of a dealership’s operations, including sales, financing, inventory, service and back-office functions. MSSPs and MSPs often provide IT and cybersecurity services to auto dealerships that outsource those services to focus on their core businesses.
