Palo Alto Networks has announced several security developments at its Ignite '21 virtual cybersecurity conference. In many cases, the updates are specifically designed for MSSPs -- though enterprise customers also remain a major focus area for the cybersecurity company.
Here are five news items from the event.
1. Prisma Cloud 3.0: The platform offers cloud code protection, ensuring organizations can embed security into the app development process. It also provides agentless security to complement existing agent-based protection and Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) for Microsoft Azure, the company indicated.
2. Next-Generation Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB): Palo Alto Networks' Next-Generation CASB helps organizations secure their cloud applications, the company asserted. It allows organizations to automatically secure new apps, protect sensitive data in real time and stop known and unknown threats, Palo Alto Networks claimed.
3. WildFire As a Standalone Product: Palo Alto Networks now offers its WildFire cloud-based threat and malware analysis solution as a standalone product. Organizations can use WildFire to access crowdsourced threat intelligence from over 80,000 customers, Palo Alto Networks stated. They also can leverage WildFire to secure document and file submission portals and automate phishing email analysis.

5. Unit 42 Cloud Incident Response Practice Enhancements: Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 threat research team has upgraded its Cloud Incident Response practice. The result: The practice's specialized cloud digital forensics and incident response teams can use Cortex XDR and other Palo Alto Networks cloud security products to identify and address cyberattacks, the company asserted.
