SaaS Alerts Extends Respond Module to Google Workplace

Cybersecurity SaaS monitoring company, SaaS Alerts, is extending its Respond module to provide automated remediation capabilities for Google Workspace for MSPs and MSSPs to provide to their end customers.

The extension comes after SaaS Alerts heard requests from a few big partners to make the Respond module available for Google Workspace customers, CEO Jim Lippie told MSSP Alert. Most MSPs’ and MSSPs’ customers are standardized on Microsoft 365, but about 10% to 20% of the market uses Google, Lippie said. Plus, a handful of really big customers need Respond for Google Workspace.

Lippie said that Google Workspace is prevalent in the education market which can be an important vertical market for MSPs and MSSPs.

“We have partners who have tens of thousands of users in this market,” he said.

Lippie estimates that about half of SaaS Alerts’ 1100 partners have at least one Google Workspace customer.

While SaaS Alerts has always monitored Google Workspace, this is the first time the platform is adding automated remediation in the form of the Respond module to cover Google’s office suite.

Respond is one of three SaaS alerts modules. The other two are Manage and Report.

Respond for Google Workspace works the same way it does for Microsoft 365, Lippie said. It locks the account and removes all the session tokens when it detects an issue.
