SingleHop IT Hosting Adds Managed Security for Midsize Businesses

Jordan Jacobs

SingleHop, a Chicago-based private cloud and managed hosting services provider, has launched Shield Plus Compliance, a managed security solution for midsize organizations.

Shield Plus Compliance serves as a "fully managed, custom-built security service for hosted environments," according to SingleHop.

It is designed to help protect midsize organizations that store and exchange sensitive data, including information covered under HIPAA, PCI DSS and other common industry rules and regulations.

A Closer Look at Shield Plus Compliance

Shield Plus Compliance is an extension of SingleHop's Shield and Shield Plus managed security solutions. Shield and Shield Plus provide organizations with physical, account, network, server and application-level services.

In addition to Shield and Shield Plus capabilities, Shield Plus Compliance offers:

  • Data-at-rest encryption.
  • Host-based intrusion detection system (IDS).
  • Log collection and analysis.
  • Real-time monitoring.
  • Vulnerability scanning.

Shield Plus Compliance also can help midsize organizations avoid data compliance issues that otherwise threaten customer privacy and business viability, SingleHop Vice President of Products Jordan Jacobs said in a prepared statement.

"Protecting sensitive information can quickly overwhelm resource-strapped IT departments. Shield Plus Compliance arms midsize organizations with ... fully staffed remote security operations center, drastically minimizing risk while reducing bottlenecks in the IT project backlog," Jacobs stated.
