MSSP Acquired: Cerberus Cyber Sentinel Buys Alpine Security for Penetration Testing

Cerberus Cyber Sentinel Corp., a Top 250 MSSP, has acquired Alpine Security, a provider of risk management and compliance services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Alpine Security, based in St. Louis, specializes in such areas as:

  • medical device and heath care cybersecurity assessment and testing;
  • penetration testing;
  • cybersecurity certification training; and
  • CISO as a Service (CaaS).

Alpine Security President and founder Christian Espinosa will take on a strategy role within Cerberus Sentinel. Also, the Alpine penetration testing team will tuck into Cerberus Sentinel's associated team. Headcount figures were not disclosed.

Cerberus Sentinel is a U.S. provider of consulting and managed services, focused solely on cybersecurity, the company says. Cerberus has been active on the M&A front. Noteworthy deals include acquiring:

  • September 2020: Clear Skies Security of Atlanta, Georgia, for cybersecurity assessments and penetration testing services.
  • August 2020: Technologyville of Arizona.
  • July 2020: TalaTek for risk management across federal government & private sector organizations.
