Cerberus Sentinel, an MSSP and cybersecurity consulting services provider, has acquired MSSP Technologyville for an undisclosed sum, according to a prepared statement. The news comes after Cerberus Sentinel last month merged with integrated risk management firm TalaTek.

This is M&A deal 325 that MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E has covered so far in 2020. See the full M&A deal list here.

Technologyville will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Cerberus Sentinel and continue to provide managed services to its U.S. customers, the companies said. In addition, Technologyville President Brian Yelm will serve as managing director of Cerberus Sentinel.

Technologyville plans to grow its operations in Arizona and the Southwest, Cerberus Sentinel indicated. It will support outsourced small and medium-sized business (SMB) IT departments and help them make strategic IT decisions and handle day-to-day IT tasks across their everyday business systems.

Meanwhile, the Technologyville acquisition enables Cerberus Sentinel to expand nationally, Cerberus Sentinel CEO David Jemmett said. The acquisition will help differentiate Cerberus Sentinel in the cybersecurity marketplace and expand its cybersecurity offerings.

What Are Technologyville and Cerberus Sentinel?

Technologyville delivers the Tech Connect managed services offering to help SMBs automate their IT, the company stated.

Tech Connect provides SMBs with an unlimited IT service contract for a fixed monthly fee, Technologyville noted. It can be bundled with various supplemental services, such as:

  • Cloud backup
  • Spam filtering
  • Web filtering

Cerberus Sentinel provides cybersecurity consulting and managed services, and it was founded with the belief that "an acquisition approach is the best way to address the industry-wide skills gap," the company noted. It offers security assessment, testing, rapid-response and other services designed to help organizations foster a culture of cybersecurity.
