MSSP CyberCX Buys OffSec Testing Company Insomnia Security

CyberCX, a company that offers security assurance, incident response, digital forensics and managed security services, has acquired New Zealand-based cybersecurity specialist and offensive security (OffSec) testing provider Insomnia Security, according to a prepared statement. The news comes after CyberCX in August announced plans to invest more than $30 million in the New Zealand market.

This is M&A deal 360 that MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2020. See the full M&A deal list here.

Insomnia Security's team of 30 cybersecurity professionals will join CyberCX as part of the acquisition, the companies said. These professionals are located in offices in Auckland and Wellington and help Insomnia Security deliver its OffSec testing services.

In addition, the Insomnia Security acquisition establishes CyberCX's penetration testing workforce as the largest in the region, CyberCX CEO John Paitaridis. It also boosts CyberCX's security expertise, Paitaridis noted, and bolsters the company's cybersecurity services portfolio.
