Funding: CyberHat Raises $6 Million, Delivers SOCaaS for MSPs

Share

CyberHat, an Israeli cyber defense startup that supports MSP, has raised $6 million in a funding led by venture capital firm Mangrove Capital Partners.

The company will use the funding to expand globally and enhance its CYREBRO security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) platform, according to a prepared statement.

CYREBRO is a "smart SOCaaS" platform, CyberHat indicated. It tracks, locates and responds to cyber events in real-time and is backed by security analysts who perform threat detection, analysis and remediation.

Furthermore, CYREBRO uses a "quality alerting" process to minimize false-positive notifications, CyberHat noted. It also offers cyber threat intelligence and forensic capabilities.

Two versions of CYREBRO are currently available: CYREBRO Core and CYREBRO One. CYREBRO Core incorporates SOC capabilities into a customer's existing security information and event management (SIEM) solution, while CYREBRO One offers a turnkey SOCaaS platform for organizations that do not have an SIEM solution or data collection technologies in place.

What Is CyberHat?

CyberHat provides cyber-readiness assessments, forensic investigation and incident response capabilities and advanced penetration simulations to global organizations. It employs 60 workers in Israel and the United States and has established partnerships with several managed service providers (MSPs).

In addition to its $6 million funding round, CyberHat in February announced a partnership with MSP Milestone Technologies. CyberHat also partnered with MSP SilverSun Technologies last year.

SOCs for MSPs

Multiple companies are attempting to offer SOC as a Service to MSPs. Key names to know include:

No doubt, the SOCaaS market continues to grow rapidly -- though no single technology company has emerged as a de facto SOC supplier to MSPs and MSSPs.
