Deloitte, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019, has acquired Australian information security company Zimbani for an undisclosed sum. Zimbani is expected to be integrated into Deloitte's existing Australia cyber practice in April 2020.

Zimbani extends Deloitte's professional security services market reach in the Asia-Pacific region. Furthermore, Zimbani will leverage Deloitte's global cyber intelligence center to help organizations detect and respond to emerging threats.
Zimbani provides managed security services, security assessments and other security offerings. The company also delivers threat and vulnerability management, cloud security, identity and access management (IAM) and data protection support.
Deloitte Acquires SecurePath, Converging Data to Expand Asia-Pacific Presence
Deloitte has been active on the M&A front. The company earlier this year acquired SecurePath, a Malaysia-based boutique consulting firm that specializes in security advisory and product enablement. SecurePath tucked into Deloitte's risk advisory practice in Malaysia.
Also, SecurePath's cyber threat defense, governance risk and compliance and information management and protection solutions are now part of the parent company's services portfolio.
And in 2019, Deloitte purchased Converging Data, an Australia-based cybersecurity firm that works with AttackIQ, Carbon Black, Phantom and Splunk. Converging Data was integrated into Deloitte's risk advisory practice as part of the transaction.
Cybersecurity Companies Eye Australian Market Opportunities
Along with Deloitte, various cybersecurity companies have explored growth opportunities in Australia.
Vectra, which provides an artificial intelligence-based threat detection and response platform, last year established regional headquarters in Sydney, Australia. Vectra's Sydney HQ is led by former Telstra and Dimension Data security executive Kevin Vanhaelen.
Also, Proficio, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019, opened a facility in Melbourne, Australia in 2018. The Melbourne hub is one of several Proficio locations in the Asia-Pacific.
