Enterprise software provider OpenText has been building an MSSP team while also pushing into the SMB and MSP cyber resilience software markets. So what's next? The answer may involve a cybersecurity product family called CyberRes.
The background: OpenText is buying Micro Focus for $6 billion. And CyberRes is part of Micro Focus. That product family includes:
- Fortify for application security;
- Voltage data privacy and protection;
- NetIQ identity and access management (IAM); and
- ArcSight for security operations.
CyberRes: MSP and Strategic Alliance Partners
The CyberRes partner program includes MSPs. And the company has strategic alliances with such IT consulting giants and Top 250 MSSPs as Accenture, Deloitte, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and PwC.
Meanwhile, OpenText owns Webroot and Carbonite -- two software companies that promote security and data protection solutions to MSPs and VARs in the SMB market.
We don't know of OpenText's own MSSP team currently leverages any of the CyberRes tools. But we do know OpenText is continuing to expand its MSSP and MDR (managed detection and response) services.
OpenText expects to complete the deal by the end of Q1 of calendar 2023.
