Sumo Logic, a company that specializes in security information and event management (SIEM), has completed its acquisition of security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) provider DFLabs. The news comes after Sumo Logic announced plans to acquire DFLabs in March 2021.
DFLabs will provide Sumo Logic customers with cloud-native security intelligence solutions, the companies said. In doing so, DFLabs will help these customers leverage modern applications, architectures and multi-cloud infrastructure.
DFLabs founder and CEO Dario Forte has been named Sumo Logic's VP and GM of orchestration and automation, the companies noted. Forte will work within Sumo Logic's security business unit and oversee the DFLabs team.
Furthermore, Sumo Logic will acquire DFLabs's office in Milan, Italy, the companies indicated. It also will add DFLabs employees who are expected to bolster the company's global engineering and cybersecurity domain expertise.
What Does the DFLabs Acquisition Mean for Sumo Logic?
DFLabs could help make Sumo Logic the "cloud-native SIEM of choice," said Greg Martin, VP and GM of Sumo Logic's security business unit. The company enables Sumo Logic to deliver a SOAR solution, so it can support customers and MSPs of all sizes and maturities.
Along with acquiring DFLabs, Sumo Logic in May 2021 unveiled the Sumo Organizations multi-account management solution. MSSPs, MSPs and managed detection and response (MDR) providers can use Sumo Organizations to gain visibility into application issues and security risks across their operations.
