Armor, a cloud security company, has hired Datto and ThreatConnect veteran Bryan Hauptman as its chief revenue officer. Hauptman is responsible for Armor's go-to-market operations, including sales, customer success and marketing, according to the company.
The Hauptman hire positions Armor to be the "engine" that empowers MSPs to capitalize on rising demand for cloud security solutions, CEO Mark Woodward said. It also supports Armor's mission to help organizations simplify cloud security and compliance.
Hauptman previously served as CRO of ThreatConnect, which specializes in cyber risk quantification, threat intelligence and security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR). In this role, Hauptman managed ThreatConnect's global revenue team.
Earlier, Hauptman has worked as SVP of global sales at Datto, where he developed the company's MSSP and MSP playbook. He also served as VP of sales at Sungard and helped the company grow its revenues in the eastern region.
Armor has some history in the IT channel. The company mentioned these partners in a December 2017 statement about AWS and Microsoft cloud security.
Armor Business Moves
The Hauptman hire comes after Armor in March 2021 integrated VMware Carbon Black Cloud Enterprise EDR capabilities into its Armor Anywhere cloud security and compliance platform.
With the integration, organizations can use Armor Anywhere to extend threat detection and response to end-user devices. They also can leverage antivirus protection with behavioral anomaly detection, real-time device assessment and containment to guard against ransomware, fileless and signatureless malware and other cyber threats.
Armor Anywhere helps organizations protect their endpoints, networks, servers and clouds against cyberattacks, the company noted. Furthermore, research indicates Armor Anywhere can provide an ROI of 774 percent.
MSPs can integrate Armor Anywhere into their cloud security portfolios via the company's Global Partner Program. That way, MSPs can use Armor Anywhere to protect customers' cloud data and applications and help customers comply with security requirements.
