BT has become a managed services delivery partner for the Google Cloud Autonomic Security Operations (ASO) solution based on the Google Chronicle security information and event management (SIEM) platform, according to the companies.
With the partnership, organizations can leverage Chronicle with BT's cybersecurity services and support from BT's Security Advisory Services team, the businesses stated. That way, organizations can use Google and BT's technologies and support to optimize their security architecture.
BT Bolsters Its Threat Intelligence, AI Capabilities
Google will provide BT with solutions from threat intelligence solutions provider Mandiant as part of the partnership, the companies said. Previously, Google completed its acquisition of Mandiant for $5.4 billion in September 2022.
Also, BT intends to trial Google's Vertex AI and Duet AI capabilities, the companies noted.

ASO provides a "holistic framework that combines principles, practices and tools that enable organizations to take an adaptive and automated approach to threat management," Google indicated.
The solution combines Chronicle's petabyte-scale detection, a data lake powered by Google's BigQuery data and analytics platform and analytics from the Looker business intelligence platform, the company stated. As such, it helps organizations detect and respond to cyber threats faster than ever before.
BT Houses Data in the Google Cloud
In March 2022, BT reached a five-year agreement with Google Cloud to use the cloud services provider's products and services.
Under the terms of the agreement, BT is using Google's data and AI capabilities to deliver personalized customer experiences and explore ways to create societal value through responsible, inclusive and sustainable technology, the companies said.
In addition, BT can access Google's site reliability engineering (SRE) experts who can help the company "drive the cultural change needed to enable BT to operate a data and AI platform in the cloud at scale," the businesses indicated.
BT offers fixed and mobile telecommunications and digital products, solutions and services. The company also provides security, network, IT infrastructure and managed telecommunications services to customers around the world.
