Carbon Black, the endpoint security solutions provider, has appointed Jon Kane as its EMEA channel director.
Prior to joining Carbon Black, Kane served as head of channel for EMEA at FireEye, the cybersecurity and malware protection solutions company. He also worked as UK distribution manager at McAfee. He has also held key posts at RSA Security, Trend Micro and VMware.
The Kane hire is one of several executive additions that could help Carbon Black extend its channel reach. Other recent Carbon Black executive hires included:
- Tom Kellermann: Carbon Black in February named Tom Kellermann as its chief cybersecurity officer. Kellermann, founder of cybersecurity investment fund Strategic Cyber Ventures, works across the Carbon Black sales, marketing, product and threat teams to expand the company's product and go-to-market initiatives.
- Cate Lochead: Carbon Black in December appointed Cate Lochead as its senior VP of marketing. Lochead previously served as chief marketing officer at open source database MariaDB and is responsible for global marketing of the Cb Predictive Security Cloud threat analytics platform.
- Victor Gureghian Baez: Carbon Black in November appointed former Microsoft executive Victor Gureghian Baez as its VP of worldwide channels. In this role, Gureghian Baez is responsible for driving Carbon Black's channel growth and global expansion.
- Thomas Hansen: Carbon Black in August added former Dropbox executive Thomas Hansen as its chief revenue officer and EVP. Hansen leads Carbon Black's worldwide sales, sales engineering, channel sales and customer services.
Carbon Black boasts more than 130 MSSP partners, 100 incident response partners and 400 channel partners worldwide.
Carbon Black, IBM Security Expand Partnership
The Cb Predictive Security Cloud has been integrated into the IBM X-Force Threat Management Services, according to a prepared statement. Now, Carbon Black and IBM Security enable organizations to use PSC in combination with the X-Force Threat Management Services to combat advanced cyber threats.
Furthermore, Carbon Black has announced the Cb Defense App for IBM's QRadar enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) offering. The app enables QRadar users to poll Cb Defense for new endpoint data in real-time and move this information into QRadar for risk and incident analysis.
Carbon Black also has unveiled the Cb Defense Integration for BigFix, IBM's endpoint security and detection platform. The integration empowers IT operations teams to install or uninstall Cb Defense sensors and report Cb Defense sensor deployment status and health.
The Carbon Black portfolio includes application control, endpoint detection and response (EDR) and next-generation antivirus solutions. Carbon Black offers these solutions to more than 3,700 customers.
