Orca Security, an agentless cloud security platform provider, has added the Powered by Snowflake partner program. In doing so, Orca can provide coverage and visibility of cloud risks across the Snowflake Data Cloud, according to a prepared statement.
Orca and Snowflake's Joint Solution
Together, Orca and Snowflake will offer a solution that allows their joint customers to "rapidly identify and respond to vulnerabilities, malware, misconfigurations, lateral movement and API risks within the Snowflake Data Cloud," the companies said.
These customers can use Orca's SideScanning technology and insights into cloud workloads and configurations. They also can leverage Orca's Unified Data Model, which provides context-aware analysis of detected weaknesses across their cloud operations.
Orca Introduces Attack Path Analysis and Business Impact Score for Cloud Apps
The Snowflake partnership comes after Orca in March 2022 added an attack path analysis capability to its cloud-based application security platform. This capability provides organizations with an Attack Path Analysis and Business Impact Score for Cloud-Native Applications, the company noted.
Security teams can use Orca's attack path analysis capability to visualize organizational risks, the company said. They can access a visual representation of an attack path and information about each step in it. Orca also assigns an overall an Attack Path Analysis and Business Impact Score (from 0 to 99) to each attack path.
To calculate an Attack Path Analysis and Business Impact Score, Orca explained that it uses an algorithm based on multiple factors found within an attack path. This allows security teams to analyze risks and find ways to avoid alert fatigue and speed up incident response and remediation. In addition, security teams can identify the most valuable cloud assets at their disposal and find ways to protect them against cyberattacks.
Orca offers a platform that organizations can use to secure their cloud infrastructure, workloads, data and identities. The company received $550 million in funding and was valued at $1.8 billion in October 2021. It provides a partner program that allows MSSPs and MSPs to integrate its platform's capabilities into their offerings.
