ControlScan, a Top 200 MSSP, and endpoint protection platform provider CrowdStrike have launched the MDR Essential managed endpoint security service, according to a prepared statement. MDR Essential leverages ControlScan Cyphon threat intelligence and the CrowdStrike Falcon endpoint protection platform to help organizations secure their endpoints.
MDR Essential uses live threat data to help organizations identify, block and remove threats that go undetected by traditional antivirus solutions, ControlScan said. It is delivered as part of ControlScan's MDR solution set and backed by the company's security operations center (SOC).
In addition, MDR Essential offers a variety of security capabilities, including:
- Antivirus and anti-malware protection
- Machine learning exploit prevention
- Ransomware detection and prevention
- Malware remediation and removal
MDR Essential is now available to global organizations. MSPs, value-added resellers (VARs) and payments technology providers also can integrate MDR Essential into their portfolios.
What Does MDR Essential Mean for ControlScan and CrowdStrike?
MDR Essential extends ControlScan's MDR services, the company indicated. In doing so, MDR Essential could help ControlScan protect global organizations against current and emerging cyberattacks.
For CrowdStrike, MDR Essential highlights the company's commitment to the MSSP market. Along with MDR Essential, CrowdStrike recently launched the CrowdStrike Developer Portal to encourage MSSPs and other channel partners to use the company's APIs to develop and launch applications and integrations.
Meanwhile, the MDR Essential release comes after MSSP Deepwatch and Cybereason, an endpoint security solutions provider, last month unveiled a joint managed endpoint detection and response (MEDR) service. Organizations can use the MEDR service to detect and remediate cyber threats and stop targeted cyberattacks.
