Waterfront, founded in 2017, is based in Huntsville, Alabama. The company is not listed on LinkedIn. Waterfront's areas of expertise include mission and data center operations and systems.

The Civil Space Sector Explained

The civil space sector focuses on space exploration, advancing space and aeronautics technologies and analyzing the solar system, according to the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).

At least 20 countries across four continents had civil space budgets totaling more than $100 million as of March 2023, Brookings reported.

Also, total investments in the global space sector reached $10 billion between 2012 and 2021, McKinsey indicated.

Organizations may continue to pursue space investments. In addition, organizations may increasingly consider investments in civil space companies, as these businesses could further accelerate the growth of the global space sector.

What the Waterfront Technical Services Acquisition Means for Sentar

Sentar adds Waterfront's flight and ground operations, data center operations, IT, software development and testing supporting NASA spaceflight missions and other services to its portfolio, the companies said.

Meanwhile, Sentar will help Waterfront as it continues to provide support for NASA's ISS, Artemis, Gateway and Human Lander projects, the companies stated.

Waterfront President Allan McCaleb will join Sentar and serve as the company's director of civil space programs, the businesses indicated. In this role, McCaleb is responsible for managing and growing Sentar's civil space business.
