Healthcare cybersecurity solutions providers Fulcrum Technology Solutions and Talus Solutions have formed a joint company that will deliver cybersecurity and identity services to organizations of all sizes, according to a prepared statement.
Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed, and the agreement is expected to close in the second quarter of 2023.
This is technology M&A deal number 92 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.
Fulcrum, founded in 2011, is based in Houston, Texas. The company has 90 employees listed on LinkedIn. Fulcrum's areas of expertise include cloud, infrastructure and security.
Talus, founded in 2018, is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company has 17 employees listed on LinkedIn. Talus' areas of expertise include identity access and governance, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
What the Merger Means for Fulcrum and Talus
The merger enhances Fulcrum's healthcare cybersecurity capabilities," CEO Randle Moore said. It allows Fulcrum to bolster its managed services portfolio to secure its customers' patients, employees, partners and information against cyber threats.
For Talus, the merger expands the company's solutions, CEO Mike Grall said. It ensures that Talus is better equipped than ever before to protect its customers' assets.
Meanwhile, the Fulcrum and Talus management teams will continue to work across the combined company, the businesses said. Both companies' customers will continue to receive the same services and support, and the businesses will maintain offices throughout Texas and the Midwest.
Fulcrum Integrates Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR Capabilities into Its Managed Services
The Talus merger comes after Fulcrum in June 2022 became a Palo Alto Networks Cortex XMDR (eXtended managed detection and response) Specialization partner. Organizations can use the Cortex XDR threat detection and response solution in conjunction with Fulcrum's managed services. In doing so, organizations can "quickly mitigate cyber threats," the companies said.
Fulcrum helps organizations identify and address big data, cloud, infrastructure and security issues, the company noted. It has established partnerships with over 100 cybersecurity and technology companies.
