Datto has added the Datto EDR (endpoint detection and response) solution to the Kaseya IT Complete Platform, according to a prepared statement.
The EDR solution enables Datto's MSP partners to use the IT Complete Platform to maximize their security coverage across multiple vectors, Datto said. It also is integrated with the Datto RMM (remote monitoring and management) solution and Kaseya One dashboard to help multifunctional IT professionals incorporate EDR capabilities into their everyday operations.
What Datto EDR Offers
Datto EDR allows MSPs to add layers of endpoint security and identify suspicious behaviors that threat actors use to bypass traditional antivirus solutions, the company said. It provides MSPs with security alerts and threat mitigation recommendations. In doing so, Datto EDR helps MSPs improve their security posture and expand their security offerings to small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers.
Datto EDR is backed by technical professionals who can interpret security alerts and help MSPs determine appropriate next steps, the company stated. Datto EDR lets MSPs monitor processes, memory and behaviors across endpoints to help MSPs detect and respond to security incidents. It also can be deployed without disrupting MSPs' day-to-day operations.
Kaseya Looks to Further Empower Datto's MSP Partners
The Datto EDR announcement comes after Kaseya promoted channel veteran Dan Tomaszewski to the role of executive vice president of channel in August 2022. This move came after Kaseya acquired Datto for $6.2 billion in June 2022.
Tomaszewski is focused on giving Datto customers "immediate value" from Kaseya's acquisition, he told ChannelE2E in August 2022. He indicated that Kaseya intends to give Datto's MSP partners access to additional sales, marketing and operations resources.
Tomaszewski stated that Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola is committed to ensuring that Datto customers can access the same tools as legacy Kaseya customers to grow their businesses.
