Microsoft Security Partnership: eSentire MDR, UiPath RPA Announce Pact

Share

eSentire, a Top 250 MSSP and Top 20 managed detection and response (MDR) service provider, and robotic process automation (RPA) company UiPath are working together to deliver end-to-end security policy automation across various Microsoft Security services, according to a prepared statement. The news comes after eSentire unveiled the Cloud Automation Security Assistant (CASA) for Microsoft security products earlier this week.

Organizations now can use eSentire's Extended Detection and Response platform in combination with UiPath's hyperautomation platform to automate their Microsoft Security configurations, the companies said. They also can automate security policy creation and updates for non-API accessible Microsoft services.

UiPath and RPA: Automating MSP & MSSP Tasks?

RPA software allows businesses to write code and bots that rapidly automate manual tasks across multiple departments — from IT service desks to HR, finance, customer support and more.

Global RPA software revenue is projected to reach $1.89 billion in 2021, up 19.5% from 2020, according to Gartner.

UiPath is riding and driving that growth wave. The company offers an RPA platform that lets organizations configure computer software, or a "robot," to emulate and integrate human actions, the company said. The platform leverages RPA robots, which allow organizations to automate various everyday processes.

With UiPath's platform, RPA robots utilize a user interface to capture data and manipulate applications, the company noted. They also interpret and trigger responses and communicate with other systems to perform repetitive tasks.

What Does the UiPath Partnership Mean for eSentire?

Combining eSentire's MDR capabilities with UiPath's RPA capabilities for Microsoft Security is "only the beginning," eSentire CEO Kerry Bailey stated. eSentire will continue to explore ways to bolster its MDR solutions, and as such, could further accelerate its growth in the foreseeable future.

eSentire recorded nearly 100 percent year-over-year growth in the first quarter of 2020, which marked its ninth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth. The company also doubled its sales and reported a 134 percent year-over-year increase in new bookings in EMEA last year.
