Forcepoint and Deep Secure: Potential Business Synergies
With the Deep Secure acquisition, Forcepoint will enhance the capabilities of its Cross Domain Solutions portfolio, the buyer said. The acquisition also enables Forcepoint to leverage Deep Secure's Threat Removal Platform to ensure its customers can share information safely.
Deep Secure's Threat Removal Platform is designed to provide organizations with malware-free data, the company stated. It extracts business information from files, verifies the extracted information is well-structured and builds a new file to carry the information to its destination.
Furthermore, the platform helps organizations eliminate cyber threats from email and web downloads and other common attack vectors, Deep Secure noted. And, unlike antivirus scanners, sandboxing and other content, disarm and reconstruction (CDR) products, the platform does not rely on detection to identify threats.
Deep Secure extends Forcepoint's defense-grade capabilities for governments and critical infrastructure organizations around the world, said Sean Berg, Forcepoint's president of global governments and critical infrastructure. It supports Forcepoint's mission to protect organizations from cyberattacks delivered via malware and help prevent unwanted data loss.
Also, Deep Secure supports Forcepoint's zero trust and data-first approach to cybersecurity, Deep Secure CEO Dan Turner stated. It allows Forcepoint to add Deep Secure's threat removal capabilities to its Cross Domain Solutions, so the company can protect organizations across on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments.
Private Equity Backs Forcepoint Acquisitions
Forcepoint is backed by private equity firm Francisco Partners, which purchased Forcepoint from defense contractor Raytheon Technologies in October 2020.
Along with Deep Secure, Forcepoint in May 2021 acquired Cyberinc, a remote browser isolation (RBI) technology provider. Forcepoint is integrating Cyberinc's technology into its SASE platform.
