Gulf Business Machines (GBM), a digital solutions provider, has acquired majority shares of managed detection and response (MDR) security services company Coordinates Middle East.
This is technology M&A deal number 795 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
GBM, founded in 1990, is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The company has 2,259 employees listed on LinkedIn. GBM's areas of expertise include data center, network infrastructure and digital transformation services.
Coordinates, founded in 2015, is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The company has 33 employees listed on LinkedIn. Coordinates' areas of expertise include cybersecurity, information security and incident response.
What the Coordinates Acquisition Means for GBM
GBM will integrate Coordinates' Cor MDR platform into its cybersecurity offerings, the company stated. This will allow GBM to automate and orchestrate threat detection, response and remediation across its customer base.
In addition, Coordinates represents a "significant milestone" for GBM in the MDR market, GBM CEO Amr Refaat said. The company supports GBM's growth in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region. It also enhances GBM's ability to provide MDR and other cybersecurity services that meet the needs of META organizations across government, healthcare, financial services and other industries.
