Dataprise, a Top 250 MSSP and portfolio company of private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners, has purchased Cohere for an undisclosed sum.
With the acquisition, Dataprise will provide Cohere's customers with access to its cybersecurity, data protection, cloud and managed IT services, according to a prepared statement.
This is technology M&A deal number 245 that MSSP Alert and ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.
Dataprise, founded in 1995, is based in Rockville, Maryland. The company has 457 employees listed on LinkedIn. Dataprise's areas of expertise include IT management and consulting.
Cohere, founded in 2004, is based in New York, New York. The company has 20 employees listed on LinkedIn. Cohere's areas of expertise include cybersecurity, risk assessment and compliance.
Dataprise Extends Its US Market Reach
Cohere expands Dataprise's New York operations, the companies said. The MSSP has a customer base of more than 150 organizations, which Dataprise will manage moving forward.
Furthermore, the Cohere transaction aligns with Dataprise's MSP acquisition strategy, Dataprise SVP of M&A Christian Fulmino stated. It comes after Dataprise acquired Texas-based MSP RevelSec in July 2023 and California-based MSP Reboot Networks in November 2022.
Going forward, Dataprise will continue to explore MSP acquisition opportunities, Fulmino noted. That way, Dataprise can bolster its presence in key markets across the United States.
Cohere Enhances Its Security and Infrastructure Services
Dataprise will provide Cohere's customers and employees with "an extended network of IT professionals and a robust solution set designed to support and protect organizations end to end," Dataprise CEO Steve Lewis said.
Meanwhile, Cohere remains focused on providing security and infrastructure services that holistically protect its customers, CEO Steve Francesco stated. By doing so, the MSSP will be able to help its customers get the most value out of these services.
