Deloitte Australia, the Australian division of professional services company Deloitte, has purchased MSSP Hacktive for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 864 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Deloitte, founded in 1845, is based in London, England. The company has 456,121 employees listed on LinkedIn. Deloitte's areas of expertise include financial advisory, risk management and tax services.

Hacktive, founded in 2018, is based in Sydney, Australia. The company has eight employees listed on LinkedIn. Hacktive's areas of expertise include managed security services, penetration testing, and security, information and event management (SIEM).

What the Hacktive Acquisition Means for Deloitte

The Hacktive team will formally join Deloitte on October 11, 2022, the companies said. At this time, Deloitte will integrate this team into its Risk Advisory practice.

Hacktive will help Deloitte enhance its current Risk Advisory practice, Deloitte Risk Advisory Managing Partner Steve Jansz said. In addition, Hacktive is expected to bolster Deloitte's ability to provide managed security services. It also will expand the capabilities of its Cyber Intelligence Center.

Deloitte Expands MXDR, Launches Zero Trust Service

The Hacktive acquisition comes after Deloitte in July 2022 added the following modules to its its managed extended detection and response (MXDR) platform:
