1. Appgate Releases New Version of ZTNA Solution: Appgate, a secure access specialist, has released Appgate SDP 6.3, the latest version of its universal zero trust network access (ZTNA) solution. The new version creates a more agile, efficient and secure network to improve business continuity, security and performance. New features maximize resiliency, speed and performance, and includes an AI-based risk engine, the company said.

2. Blumira, Trava Partner for SMB Security: Blumira, a security and operations platform provider, and Trava Security, a specialist in compliance and cybersecurity advisory services, have announced a strategic partnership to help small and midsize businesses (SMBs) proactively manage cyber risks and protect against the negative impacts of cyber incidents. The partnership between will draw on the Blumira's automated threat detection and response capabilities to provide more accessible cybersecurity options to SMBs. Combining these offerings with Trava Security’s vCISO and compliance services will provide organizations with a security posture that protects against cyberattacks, the companies said.

3. CrowdStrike Shares Take a Hit: CrowdStrike shares fell more than 8% on Tuesday after a report that Delta Air Lines will seek compensation from the cybersecurity firm over the recent global IT outage that crippled industries, including airlines. The cyber outage led to more than 2,200 flight cancellations on July 19 and Delta has canceled over 6,000 flights so far since then. CrowdStrike's Falcon Sensor software had caused Microsoft Windows to crash and display the Blue Screen of Death. (Source: Reuters)

4. Darktrace Delivers New Partner Program: Darktrace, a specialist in cybersecurity AI, has launched a new global partner program. The Darktrace Defenders Partner Program encourages deeper collaboration, empowers partners and helps organizations improve cyber resilience with the Darktrace ActiveAI Security Platform and products. Darktrace's Global Partner Organization has worked with thousands of partners worldwide, including value-added resellers (VARs), global systems integrators, MSSPs, distributors and consulting organizations, the company said.

5. Veracode Debuts Partner Program: Veracode, an application risk management specialist, has launched its enhanced Veracode Velocity Partner Program. The expanded program introduces a simplified approach to working with resellers and value-added distributors, the company said. Benefits include early access to Veracode products, invitations to Veracode Technical Summits and Partner Technical Advisory Council membership, participation in thought leadership programs, revenue acceleration programs, and marketing investment.

6. Accenture and SandboxAQ Expand Partnership: Accenture and SandboxAQ are expanding their partnership to address the critical need for enterprise data encryption that can defend against current data breaches, as well as future AI and quantum threats. Accenture and SandboxAQ are helping organizations secure sensitive data and strengthen encryption across their technology portfolios. The joint offering will also provide observability across environments to help increase enterprise resilience and lower impact from third party risks, Accenture said.

7. Proficio Rolls Out Breach and Attack Simulation Service: Proficio, a managed detection and response (MDR) provider, has rolled out its ProBAS Breach and Attack Simulation service. ProBAS ensures organization's security defenses can prevent compromise events and detect attacks throughout the entire threat detection and response process. From device alert logs to SIEM, SOC detection and containment response actions, ProBAS covers every aspect, the company said.

8. Securonix Welcomes New CEO: Securonix, a security information and event management (SIEM) provider, has appointed Kash Shaikh as president and CEO and member of its board of directors. He most recently served as president and CEO of Virtana, a hybrid-cloud infrastructure observability solutions provider. Prior to Virtana, Shaikh served as global vice president and general manager for Dell’s Enterprise Solutions Unit. Shaikh has also held leadership and executive positions at Ruckus Wireless, Hewlett Packard, Cisco and Nortel Networks.

9. Nuspire Reports Exploit Surge: MSSP Nuspire has released its Q2 2024 Cyber Threat Report. The Q2 2024 report indicates a 21.07% increase in exploit activity compared to Q1, underscoring the persistent and growing threat of vulnerability exploitation. Conversely, ransomware publications saw a 10.43% decrease, largely attributed to law enforcement actions against major ransomware groups. Dark web marketplace listings also experienced a 12.93% drop in overall activity, indicating potential shifts in cybercriminal tactics, Nuspire reports.

10. Axiad Scores Growth Capital: Axiad, an identity security provider, has raised $25 million in funding from Invictus Growth Partners. The investment funds will be used primarily to fuel product development innovation, hire additional top talent, bolster sales and marketing efforts and aid in the company's journey to achieve Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Authority to Operate, the company said.
