Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Critical Start Offers Vulnerability Management, Prioritization: Critical Start, a provider of managed detection and response (MDR) cybersecurity solutions and a managed cyber risk reduction (MCRR) specialist, has brought to market the Critical Start Vulnerability Management Service (VMS) and Vulnerability Prioritization. These new offerings enable organizations to assess, manage, prioritize and reduce cyber risk exposure posed by vulnerabilities across their environments, the company said. The managed service leverages Critical Start's collaboration with Qualys, utilizing its vulnerability management, detection and response solution, Qualys VMDR. 

2. Skyhigh Security Names New CTO: Skyhigh Security has appointed Stephen Tait as its new chief technology officer (CTO). Tait will be responsible for driving the company’s technological vision, strategy, and architecture. He was most recently CTO at Snow Software, was previously vice president of engineering at Calyx and held senior executive engineering positions at BAE Systems, Capita, Cybit and Telematix. 

3. Everfox Acquires Garrison Technology: Cybersecurity company Everfox, formerly Forcepoint Federal, announced that it has completed its acquisition of Garrison Technology Ltd. The acquisition integrates Garrison’s hardware-enforced security (and software capabilities into Everfox’s software portfolio of cross domain, threat protection and insider risk solutions to deliver comprehensive cybersecurity to enterprise customers in government and regulated industries, the company said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

4. Keysight Joins Cyber Collaborative: Cybersecurity provider Keysight Technologies announced that it has joined the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC), expanding its current partnership with the U.S. government to enhance the nation’s cybersecurity resiliency. Leveraging 20 years of cybersecurity testing and threat intelligence research, Keysight will support JCDC’s mission of uniting the global cyber community in the collective defense of cyberspace, the company said.

5. BeforeAI Issues Paris Olympics Report: BforeAI has released its 2024 Paris Olympic Games Infrastructure Attack Report. By analyzing newly registered domains acquired two weeks before the event, indicating the rise in malicious activities, BforeAI researchers discovered 166 unique domains that leveraged the common signs of DNS abuse. Significant use of keywords related to the Olympics and specific years or events was found in an attempt to attract traffic and appear relevant to search engines, so the domains in this cybercriminal infrastructure gain an advantage of the "domain age," which can influence their future SEO, the company said.

6. Reco and SecurityScorecard Forge Partnership: Reco, a SaaS security and SSPM solution provider, and SecurityScorecard, a specialist in cybersecurity ratings, response and resilience, have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen organizations' ability to identify and manage enterprise and vendor risks associated with third-party SaaS applications.

7. Cohesity Releases Cyber Resilience Report: Cyber resilience research commissioned by Cohesity, an AI-powered data security provider, reveals organizations overestimate their cyber resilience capabilities and maturity, leading to significant business continuity disruptions and ransom payments. The Cohesity Global Cyber Resilience Report 2024 polled more than 3100 IT and security decision-makers in eight countries confirms the threat of cyberattacks, especially ransomware, continues to rise, with the majority of respondents falling victim to a ransomware attack in the last six months, and most having paid a ransom in the past year. Moreover, most respondents said the threat of cyberattacks to their organization’s industry of operation has or will increase in 2024 compared to 2023.
