1. CrowdStrike-1Password Partnership Delivers AI Protection for SMBs: CrowdStrike has expanded its partnership with 1Password to simplify security for 150,000 customers, with a focus on small and midsize businesses (SMBs). 1Password Extended Access Management (XAM) customers can now access the enterprise-grade protection they need to stop ransomware and data breaches with CrowdStrike Falcon Go, which allows users of all skill levels to quickly and easily deploy protection to stop cyberattacks, the company said.
2. Allurity Buys Lyvoc: Allurity, a European group of tech-enabled cybersecurity service providers, has acquired Lyvoc, a cybersecurity integration partner specializing in helping its clients accelerate and secure their digital transformation. Lyvoc, based in France, brings experience in identity and access management (IAM), cloud security and security compliance automation. Lyvoc has built partnerships with Okta (for IAM), Drata (for security compliance automation) and Wiz (for cloud security) and has relationships with more than 150 customers, the company said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
3. Trustwave's Report Highlights Alarming Trends: Trustwave, a cybersecurity and managed security services provider, has released a series of reports detailing the threats facing the financial services sector.
Key findings from Trustwave SpiderLabs’ financial services research series include:
- 24% of ransomware attacks against the financial sector were by ALPHV
- 49% of attacks against financial institutions originated from phishing
- 20% of ransomware attacks in the sector were against banking institutions
- 65% of ransomware attacks targeting financial services were in the US
- 37% of phishing emails in the industry contained HTML attachments
- 73% of credential access techniques were brute-force attempts
4. Genetec Expands Security Center SaaS: Genetec, a provider of unified security, public safety, operations and business intelligence solutions, has launched Operations Center, a cloud-based work management solution designed for physical security operations. Available as part of Security Center SaaS, or as a standalone product, this solution helps improve the way physical security teams collaborate, communicate and manage their tasks, the company said.
5. Operant AI Secures Funding Round: Operant AI, a runtime AI application protection platform provider, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round co-led by SineWave Ventures and Felicis, with participation from Alumni Ventures, Massive, Calm Ventures, Gaingels, alongside industry-expert angels. This investment brings Operant AI’s total funding to $13.5 million, which it will use to accelerate team and product expansion bringing active cloud-native protection to APIs, AI and cloud applications, with a particular focus on securing the entire data-in-use lifecycle, the company said.
6. INE Security Helping Close Cyber Skills Gap: The White House Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) recently launched the Service for America initiative, in collaboration with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), to addresses the pressing cybersecurity skills gap, which currently sees over 500,000 unfilled positions across the United States. In response, INE Security, a cybersecurity training provider, is launching a strategic initiative to align with these efforts by partnering with educational and non-profit organizations, including Virtually Testing Foundation, FOUR18 Intelligence and Columbus State University, to enhance cybersecurity training with practical, hands-on experiences, the company said.
7. Realm.Security Secures Funding: Realm.Security announced that it has emerged from stealth, having raised $5 million in seed funding from Accomplice and Glasswing Ventures to "control the explosion of cybersecurity data inundating security teams." Realm transforms sprawling security data into a unified, intelligent entity that allows security teams to effectively manage cost and escape vendor lock, the company said.
8. Metabase Q Builds Security Capabilities, Announces Funding: Metabase Q, a cybersecurity management company, has added a new layer of proactive security, ZeroAPT Mitigator, in Batuta to further reduce risk. Batuta centrally monitors and manages remote endpoints and cybersecurity technologies, giving IT and cybersecurity teams a shared view of cyber risk, operational and technology efficiencies and actionable insights, the company said. Metabase Q also announced $11 million in an extension Series A round. SYN Ventures.
9. Logpoint and G’Secure Labs Form Partnership: Logpoint has announced the new strategic partnership with G’Secure Labs, a cybersecurity service provider offering risk management, compliance consulting, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and 24/7 incident management. G’Secure Labs will leverage Logpoint’s SIEM with automation, case management and bfehavior analytics to complement their SOCaaS capabilities, providing clients with enhanced log management, threat detection and incident response, the companies said.
10. Cyera Report Reports DSPM is the Fastest-Growing Security Category: Cyera, a data security provider, has released its 2024 Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) Adoption Report. The report reveals that 75% of organizations will implement DSPM within the next 12 months. This rapid adoption highlights the critical role DSPM plays in managing data security risks across modern, multi-environment infrastructures. The report found that fragmented tools, limited data discovery and outdated classification methods are among the top data security challenges for security teams, given they create security blind spots and leave critical business data vulnerable. In response, DSPM has emerged as a pivotal security category, rapidly gaining traction as organizations seek more effective solutions, Cyera said.
