Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. What cyber pros earn - While the cybersecurity industry pays well, with an average reported salary of $147,138 in the U.S. as compared to the median U.S. wage of $59,428, there are pay gaps between genders and ethnic groups, according to the most recent ISC2  Global Workforce Study. Data analyzed from the U.S.-based portion of the 15,000 cybersecurity professionals who responded to the survey will show that while pay disparity remains a challenge for the field, cybersecurity seems to have more pay parity than the broader U.S. labor market.

3. New chief strategist - MSSP Nuspire has added Chris Roberts as the chief strategy executive & evangelist. Roberts brings 30-plus years of  cybersecurity to the role where he has proven his ability to engage technical teams, executives and clients across diverse industries, the company said. His new role at Nuspire will encompass thought leadership, technical expertise to help guide the development of the services platform.

4. New partnership - TierPoint has selected Corero Network Security for its next-generation DDoS defense infrastructure, underlining the critical need for cutting-edge, reliable cyber defense mechanisms in today's digital landscape. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to excellence in cyber security and operational resilience.

5. Another new partnership - To help companies manage the increase in network and application threats, IBM and Fortinet announced the availability of the Virtual FortiGate Security Appliance (vFSA) on IBM Cloud. This new offering integrates all the capabilities of Fortinet’s FortiGate hardware firewall form factor with the availability and flexibility of virtual appliances, designed to help protect clients’ networks carrying sensitive traffic and data to enable them to remain highly available.
