1. AI Security Platform Launch: Gorilla Technology Group has introduced its new line of security convergence devices, developed in collaboration with Lanner. At the core of this initiative is Gorilla’s integrated AI-based platform. Gorilla’s proprietary detection engine, NetProbe, will protect against the constantly evolving landscape of cyber threats, the company said.
2. Cloud Security Release: Palo Alto Networks has unveiled new innovations as part of Cortex XSIAM for Cloud, bolstering the platform to deliver cloud detection and response capabilities in one unified solution. Cortex XSIAM incorporates the unique architecture of cloud-based applications, understands the distinct characteristics of cloud-related threat and provides the necessary real-time monitoring and response capabilities for SOC analysts, the company said.
3. Security Partnership: IRONSCALES, an AI-powered email security specialist, has expanded to the U.K. and Ireland through its existing partnership with Infinigate Group, a value-add distributor of cybersecurity, secure network and secure cloud technologies. The expansion builds on the success of the companies’ existing partnership, announced last May, which covers Benelux, the Nordics, and Switzerland.
4. Vishing Awareness Week: Mutare, a provider of enterprise solutions for voice threat defense, is lead sponsor of the second annual Vishing Awareness Week. Vishing Awareness is a grassroots educational campaign focused on arming businesses with knowledge of the tactics employed by cybercriminals to execute voice-based attacks, as well as the tools available to combat these rising threats. Vishing Awareness Week will be observed April 22-26.
5. Public Sector at Risk of Cyberattacks, Report Says: The reinsurance industry should brace itself for potential attacks on the public sector targeting government and election infrastructure, warns CyberCube, a cyber risk analytics specialist for the insurance industry. In a new report, CyberCube advises government agencies and officials to increase their cybersecurity measures, enhance election integrity safeguards and collaborate with cybersecurity experts to mitigate these threats.
6. Leadership Appointments: Blue Mantis, a provider of digital strategy and services specializing in managed services, cybersecurity and cloud solutions, has made several leadership appointments. Jay Pasteris, formerly Blue Mantis’ chief information officer and chief information security officer, has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Gary Yu, the company’s vice president of information technology, has been named deputy chief information officer, and Jay Martin, previously security practice lead, has been promoted to vice president of security.
7. AI Security Launch: QFunction has launched its tailored cybersecurity solutions to help medium- to large-sized businesses and CISOs protect their data, asset and reputation from cyber threats and attacks through the power of AI. Created by cybersecurity expert Ryan Smith, QFunction augments clients’ SIEMs with AI, providing clients advanced anomaly detection capabilities within their existing data and eliminating the need to invest in other costly cybersecurity products that perform the same function, the company said.

9. Roku Cyberattack Update: Streaming service provider Roku said on April 12 it identified a second cyberattack that impacted about 576,000 additional accounts while investigating a breach that affected 15,000 user accounts earlier this year. The company, which had more than 80 million active accounts, said the hackers did not gain access to any sensitive information such as full credit card numbers or other payment details.
