1. HUMAN Security Debuts Partner Program: HUMAN Security, a cybersecurity company specializing in disrupting bot attacks, digital fraud and abuse, has launched the HUMAN Advantage Partner Program, a global channel network that will strengthen partners’ ability to reach enterprises, driving partner growth and profitability. The new program offers high rewards and margins through a three-tier structure, designed to stay in tune with evolving market economics and centered on three key factors: annualized bookings, training and retention, the company said.
2. Malwarebytes Releases Ransomware Report: Malwarebytes, a specialist in real-time cyber protection, has released its "ThreatDown 2024 State of Ransomware" report. Among the key findings, the U.S. experienced a dramatic 63% increase in ransomware attacks, with the U.K. seeing an even greater rise of 67%. The share of attacks carried out by gangs outside the top 15 increased from 25% to 31%, indicating that ransomware is becoming more accessible to a broader range of cybercriminals, according to the report.
3. Entrust Delivers Key Control Solution: Entrust, an identity-centric security solutions provider, has unveiled KeyControl as a Service (KCaaS), providing organizations with control of their cryptographic keys while leveraging the benefits of the cloud. Entrust KeyControl’s support for geographically distributed vaults enables highly effective management of keys and secrets, while mitigating aggregation risks within a cryptographic ecosystem. This approach enables data protection that aligns with local security policies and helps ensure compliance with regulatory mandates, the company said.
4. Fortra Unveils Email Security Solution: Fortra, a global cybersecurity software and services provider, has brought to market Core, Advanced, and Elite bundles for Email Security. The Advanced Email Security bundle includes all solutions in Core and adds Agari DMARC Protection, which prevents email domain spoofing by simplifying policy deployment and ongoing monitoring. The Elite bundle includes all solutions in Advanced but adds PhishLabs’ Domain Monitoring to proactively detect and suspend look-alike domains, which are often used in phishing attacks, business email compromise (BEC) and other threats, the company said.
5. Rubrik Protects Salesforce Data: Rubrik is releasing Salesforce Data Protection, a backup and recovery solution for Salesforce Core Platform data. The new offering is powered by the data security capabilities of Rubrik Security Cloud, a unified platform that consolidates data protection across SaaS, cloud and on-premises environments. This offering adds to Rubrik’s existing data protection for SaaS tools like M365 and Jira, the company said.
6. MSSP Asper Enters U.S. Market: Asper, a Brazil-based MSSP, announced that it is entering the cybersecurity market in the United States with the opening of a new office at Rockefeller Center New York City. Backed by an initial investment of $3 million and a portfolio of more than 10 American clients in the food services industry, Asper aims to bolster its international presence and meet the increasing demand for advanced cybersecurity technology solutions and specialized services, the company said.
7. Cylerian Stops Cyber Threat: Cylerian, a cybersecurity solutions provider, announced that it helped identify and thwart a sophisticated cyber threat. The threat actor, believed to be affiliated with the "Embargo Ransomware Group," an offshoot of the ALPHV Blackcat group, gained access via a password spraying attempt against a VPN server and was able to abuse account weaknesses to gain escalate access to critical systems. The Cylerian platform's approach to security enabled the victim enterprise to fully identify and mitigate the threat, preventing further data loss and operational disruption, the company said.
8. Trellix Protects Federal Emails: Trellix, extended detection and response (XDR) specialist, announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Zero Day Network Defense Program has selected the company to protect more than 4 million email inboxes across the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Building on a nearly two-decade-long relationship with DISA, Trellix email protection advances the agency’s zero trust architecture (ZTA) adoption and will enable it to migrate on-premises infrastructure to the cloud, the company said.
