1. Intezer Raises $33 Million: MSSP Intezer, a specialist in AI-powered technology for autonomous security operations, has raised $33 million in Series C funding, bringing its total capital raised to $60 million. The funding round was led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from all existing investors, including Intel Capital, OpenView, Magma and Alon Cohen, founder of CyberArk. With these funds, Intezer will expand its go-to-market and product teams to strengthen its position in the emerging AI security operations center (SOC) market, the company said.

2. Deepwatch Adopts CrowdStrike Falcon Platform: Deepwatch has launched five advanced platform modules powered by the AI-native CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform to deliver managed detection and response (MDR). These new modules in the Deepwatch Platform accelerate customer’s SOC transformation by supporting the migration, deployment, active management, detection and contextualized response from the Falcon platform to deliver unified holistic cyber outcomes, the company said.

3. Arctic Wolf Releases Security Operations Report: MSSP Arctic Wolf has published its 2024 Security Operations Report, which explores data and insights gathered from more than 250 trillion security events analyzed by the Arctic Wolf platform over the past year. Forty-five percent of security events now occur outside traditional working hours, highlighting how the mass adoption of cloud-based application requires organization to enable 24/7 security monitoring, the company said.

4. Logicalis, Extreme Networks Form Partnership: Logicalis, a managed service provider, has announced a new partnership with Extreme Networks, a cloud networking specialist, in an effort to deliver networking solutions to businesses across the U.K. and Ireland. The partnership combines Logicalis' expertise in digital transformation and managed services with Extreme Networks' cloud networking solutions, the companies said.

5. Rapid7 Unveils Red Team Managed Service: Rapid7, an extended risk and threat detection specialist, has brought to market Vector Command, a managed offensive security service. Vector Command combines the external attack surface assessment capabilities of Rapid7’s Command Platform with continuous red teaming services by its internal experts to help customers identify and validate IT security posture weaknesses from an attacker’s perspective, the company said. 

6. CyberRisk Alliance Announces Winners of the 2024 SC Awards: CyberRisk Alliance (CRA) and SC Media have announced the winners of the 2024 SC Awards. This year’s SC Awards program recognizes solutions, organization, and individuals that have made significant contributions to the field of information security. The SC Awards, now in its 27th year, continues to honor those who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in addressing the evolving cybersecurity landscape. This year’s winners span 33 categories, showcasing both trusted industry leaders and emerging innovators, CRA said.

7. Netwrix Reports 84% of Large Enterprises Experienced a Security Incident: Netwrix has revealed more findings from its annual global 2024 Hybrid Security Trends Report. According to the survey, 84% of organizations in the enterprise sector (those with more than 1,000 employees) spotted a cyberattack within the last 12 months, compared to only 65% in 2023. The most common security incidents are phishing, user or admin account compromise, and ransomware or other malware attack.

8. Obsidian Security Announces New Integration with CrowdStrike: Obsidian Security announced that it is enhancing the detection and response capabilities of security teams by integrating with the CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform. This new integration leverages Obsidian’s SaaS breach data repository to enrich the AI-powered models within CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM.

9. Cyware Joins Coalition for Secure AI: Cyware, a specialist in threat intelligence management, has joined the Coalition for Secure AI (CoSAI), an international alliance dedicated to promoting the development and deployment of secure, ethical and transparent AI technologies. By joining CoSAI, Cyware reinforces its commitment to fostering innovation in AI while ensuring that safety, privacy and security remain at the forefront of technological advancement, the company said.

10. Akamai Finds Geopolitical Tensions Driving Surge in DDoS Attacks: Akamai Technologies, a cloud security provider, has released a new State of the Internet (SOTI) report that shows financial services remains the most frequently targeted industry by Layers 3 and 4 distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks for the second consecutive year. The report, "Navigating the Rising Tide: Attack Trends in Financial Services," finds that financial services account for 34% of DDoS attacks. This is followed by gaming at 18% and high technology at 15%.
