Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. KnowBe4 Closes Egress Acquisition: KnowBe4, a provider of security awareness training and a simulated phishing platform, has completed its acquisition of Egress, a specialist in adaptive and integrated cloud email security. KnowBe4 plans to integrate the recently acquired Egress products and operations over the coming months and focus on providing a unified customer experience.

2. MDR Service Launches: Optiv, a cyber advisory and solutions company, has launched its managed detection and response service, Optiv MDR, on the Google Security Operations platform. Optiv MDR enables organizations to rapidly detect and respond to emerging threats with managed threat detection and response capabilities, the company said.

3. Tyto Buys MindPoint: Tyto Athene, a federal systems integrator of mission-focused digital transformation solutions, has completed its acquisition of MindPoint Group. MindPoint is a provider of end-to-end managed cybersecurity services to U.S. federal agencies and organizations. As part of the acquisition, Patti Chanthaphone, president of MindPoint, has been appointed as Federal Civilian Group president of Tyto.

4. Upskilling for MSP Pros Offered: PowerPSA Consulting, a specialist in security operations improvements for MSPs and MSSPs, has formed a strategic partnership with Empath, a learning management and accountability platform dedicated to upskilling MSP employees through its content and proprietary learning journeys. This collaboration will offer members of PowerPSA’s vCISO program, The PowerGRYD, free access to Empath’s comprehensive learning resources, the companies said.

5. New CEO Named: Cyviation, a specialist in cybersecurity solutions for the aviation industry, has appointed Eliran Almog as its new CEO, succeeding Avi Tenenbaum. Almog, a seasoned helicopter pilot with deep knowledge of international markets, brings a proven track record of driving growth and innovation, the company said.

6. N-able Pledges Secure By Design: N-able, a software company helping IT services providers deliver remote monitoring and management, data protection as-a-service and security solutions, has signed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Secure By Design Pledge. The CISA pledge is taken by companies who are committed to making a good-faith effort to work towards increased security and transparency within the next year. By signing the pledge, N-able is further prioritizing security in its products and services while building on its defenses against cyber threats, the company said.

7. Cisco Issues Vulnerability Warning: Cisco said dozens of its networking and communications devices are likely vulnerable to a recently disclosed SSH vulnerability. Cisco said that 42 products are confirmed to contain the remote code execution flaw, including products in Network Management and Provisioning, Network and Content Security, Enterprise and Service Provider Routing and Switching, Unified Computing, Unified Voice and Communications Devices, Video Streaming Telepresence and Transcoding, and Wireless. Cisco said that 51 products across those same lines were also still under investigation for the flaw and some or all may well be added to the list. (Source: SC Media)

8. Partner Program Targets Dark Web Security: Enzoic, a specialist in cybersecurity credential screening and dark web intelligence, has unveiled its Enzoic Global Partner Program to help organizations strengthen their security posture in response to the evolving cybersecurity landscape. Participants have access to Enzoic’s threat intelligence solutions, which continuously monitor the dark web for newly exposed sensitive data, the company said.

9. Threat Defense Release: AttackIQ, a breach and attack simulation (BAS) provider, has introduced AttackIQ Mission Control, which enhances AttackIQ Enterprise BAS deployments within large organizations, streamlining security testing for distributed teams. “With the addition of AttackIQ Mission Control, we have improved the pace of continuous security validation by making the technology easier to use and administer,” said Carl Wright, CCO at AttackIQ, in a prepared statement.

10. MDR Partnership Formed: MSP ivision has formed strategic partnership with Expel, an MDR provider, to offer ivision clients Expel’s MDR solutions. Expel MDR delivers detection and response across an extreme breadth and depth of environments, including the cloud control plane, cloud workloads (including Kubernetes), SaaS and identity, endpoint, network, security information and event management (SIEM), the companies said.
