1. Magna5 Acquires FullScope IT: Magna5, a provider of managed IT, cybersecurity and cloud solutions for SMBs, has acquired FullScope IT, a managed IT services business with a strong presence in eastern and southwestern United States. This strategic acquisition will enhance Magna5's ability to deliver comprehensive support and protection to its clients while expanding its reach across the U.S., the company said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

2. Todyl Revamps Partner Program to Strengthen MSP Security: Todyl, a cybersecurity platform provider, has launched its revamped partner program. This new initiative provides resources and strategic support to MSPs, helping them safeguard SMBs and mid-market companies against increasingly sophisticated threats, the company said. Todyl said that its new partner program will help maximize its partners’ growth, revenue and profitability through strategic collaboration and resources while empowering them with advanced cybersecurity capabilities, insights and automation.

3. Torq Partners with RSM: Torq, a security hyperautomation provider, has formed a new partnership with RSM US, a professional services company. Torq is partnering with RSM to automate, manage and monitor security operations center (SOC) responses across its MSSP ecosystem with the AI-driven Torq HyperSOC Solution. RSM has integrated Torq HyperSOC into its RSM Defense managed SOC, which enhances the firm's ability to provide comprehensive detect and response services, threat intelligence, threat hunting, vulnerability management and critical incident response to its global clients, the company said.

4. Netskope Advances Netskope One Platform: Netskope, a specialist in secure access service edge (SASE), has unveiled several new innovations in the Netskope One platform, including expanded digital experience management features and benefits. Combining key network and security capabilities, Netskope One enables an entire organization to optimize the user experience while protecting critical data and reducing risk, cost and complexity, the company said.

5. Fortinet Opens Innovation Hub in Chicago: Fortinet, a cybersecurity provider focused on the convergence of networking and security, has announced the opening of a new innovation hub in Chicago. The facility is part of the company’s global expansion strategy to foster innovation and enhance collaboration for its customers, partners, employees and other key stakeholders, the company said.

6. Secureframe Introduces Free Gap Assessment: Secureframe has launched its Gap Assessment solution to help service partners, including MSPs, MSSPs, vCISOs and IT security consultants, identify gaps in security posture or compliance status, offering clear insights into improvement areas. This tool empowers partners to discover new opportunities for growth within their Secureframe-powered services at no cost. Secureframe is addressing a common challenge faced by IT service providers — uncovering areas of non-compliance and potential risk while demonstrating value to clients, the company said.

7. Trellix Combines Email Security with Data Loss Prevention: Trellix, an extended detection and response (XDR) provider, has now integrated Trellix Email Security Cloud with Trellix Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities. The enhanced solution improves data security and protects organizations’ sensitive information by monitoring and blocking email-borne data risks like exfiltration by insiders or accidental data sharing, the company said.

8. Proofpoint and CyberArk Expand Partnership: Proofpoint, a cybersecurity and compliance company, and CyberArk, an identity security provider, have extended their strategic collaboration, working together to help organizations around the world secure identities. The integration between Proofpoint and CyberArk features a combination of layered defenses designed to stop threats before they reach users and applies preventative policies and controls that ensure access accuracy, the companies said.

9. Lookout Threat Research Focuses on Mobile Security: Lookout, a data-centric cloud security company, has released the Lookout Mobile Threat Landscape Report for Q2 2024. The report highlights insights behind a 70% year-over-year increase in mobile phishing and malicious web content, dissects a new mobile surveillanceware family and notes a significant increase in attacks that enable root access to iOS devices. Lookout data also shows that even if an organization manages employee devices with only a mobile device management (MDM) solution, those employees are just as likely to encounter a phishing attack as organizations that don’t use MDM, Lookoout reports.
